Sodium carbonate can be used as a water softening ingredient when making your own laundry powder that also helps to remove grease, oil and wine stains. Or you can add 1/2 cup to your wash to boost your regular detergent.
It can also be used as a basic cleaner for most surfaces, but it will scratch aluminium and fibreglass.
